Toughest Match Yet

Burton v Barton

On what looked like it was going to be a cold and snowy day, Burton were due to play Hinckley and Barton. Hinckley were unable to attend and so it was left to local rivals Barton to play 2 matches.
The weather was not a factor and both teams were evenly matched, Barton turned out eight players, Burtons had a team of eleven and played with rolling substitutes.

These two matches turned out to be the closest matches that Burton had played and both coaches and supporters were rightly concerned that Burton would fall to their first defeat of the season.

Match 1
This was an extremely close match with both teams playing excellent attack and defence, Burton were playing very well as a team and there was a lot of talking between players.
Coaches were very complimentary about the effort of the team.
Following a very competitive game the final score was 6-6

Match 2
Following a short break where both teams were given hot chocolate by the U7 Hospitality Team, play resumed.
This match again was a very close affair with some really good support play by Burton with players tagging opponents well and also thinking about getting onside following a 'tag'
After a thrilling finish in which the supporters were concerned about Burton conceding their first defeat, Burton pushed on to secure a narrow victory and maintain their undefeated record. The final score being 6-5

Following the match the team were treated to Mince pies, a selection box each, and a big thank you to Daniel Smith's grandad who treated all of the team to official Burton Rugby Club Woolly hats
