Whilst parents discussed the cold temperature 2* the under 7's were kitted up and straight into warming up for the tournament ahead .
The coaches all made sure each under 7 knew exactly where to go and what was expected of them . Helping the day run smooth with more than 100 under 7@s running everywhere .
The first game saw Burton Green play on pitch 2 , Burton Green played a great first game and their efforts didn't go unnoticed by Burton Red who watched from the sideline's chanting "Burton Burton" and going wild every time a try was scored ....Burton scored a fair few .
Burton Red soon followed on the same pitch and the tournament was well under way with Tags flying everywhere and tries being scored at a quick rate . The coaches worked miracles to fairly share out the substitution duties amongst both teams and all players .
The first round of games got the day going and after many more games , even more tries , cakes , coffee and buttie's (more so for the parents) all Burton Red and Burton Green won medals for their participation , effort's and team work .
The coaches team talks always referred to the most important factor , enjoying yourself , and the kids certainly did just that .
The team are growing in ability at such a fast rate , which is great to see , but friendships and team bonds are also forming .
As a parents and grandparent's, for us that's the most important thing.
