The Burton coaches are really impressed with the improvements in all the players.

Burton u7s took on their counterparts from Matlock on the Oxhay bolstered by new recruit James Derby playing in his first game for the club. Burton's squad split into two teams and played twenty minutes of rugby each, with some excellent handling and movement.

The lads certainly seem to be developing quickly with an eye for the try line, with Peter, James, Lewis, Alfie and Thomas all scoring freely throughout the game. Some excellent defence from Harry, Will, Joseph, William and Finlay kept the pressure on Matlock who were also playing some really entertaining rugby.

Matlock and Burton played in great spirit throughout the game, with players sharing some good banter with the referees. The Burton coaches are really impressed with the improvements in all the players and hope to continue this progress which will ensure this squad is one to be feared in future years. The parents player of the week was Peter and the coaches player was Alfie Tyers for showing a great attitude and also for his simple passing which enabled his team mates to score loads of tries. A great morning of rugby, with all coaches agreeing a draw was again the best result all round!
