Yet despite these difficult conditions, both teams managed to produce a fine feast of tries and attacking rugby.
Once again with both teams boasting excellent numbers of players, the squads were divided up and two matches played and everyone involved to the full. The matches themselves were a contrast of styles with Lichfield showing good structure and Burton fighting back with attacking flair, at times bamboozling their opposition with darting runs around all areas of the pitch, proving the old adage that if your own team don’t necessarily know what you’re doing then the opposition have no chance!
In the end, the morning finished as a draw with two wins each for both teams, which was a fair reflection of the efforts shown by all the players.
Next game is next Sunday versus ……………….. details will follow in the week.
