A day at Tamworth....

Tamworth 40-45 Burton

In a game that was all about attack Burton started well with 2 quick tries off Cameron Callow, some good running from Tamworth saw them hit back with 3 of there own though. A good period of pressure saw Charlie Evans score twice, only for Tamworth to tighten up there defence and take a 30-20 half time lead. Cameron Callow then scored his third but Tamworth hit straight back. Mathew Lumby then produced some dazzling skills to start and finish a good passing move. Charlie Evans then scored his third and Mathew Lumby then pulled the team in front with another well worked try. The ever improving Edgar Brown went on another powerful run to score. Another try by Tamworth finished the scoring.

Tamworth 30-20 Burton

Tamworth came out firing for the second game, and quickly took the lead. However, once Burton had tightened up their defence, they soon released a good attack, Finn Spendlove the first to benefit from some good team play. The game ebbed and flowed with some good defence from both teams. Charlie Evans showing good support play to score from a good team move, Finn Spendlove then ran a good line to burst through for his second. Cameron Callow finished Burtons scoring in a tight close game with the only difference being Tamworths good start.

Tamworth 30-25 Burton

This was another game that was all about attack play, and Burton got the first with a well worked try for Charlie Spendlove, Tamworth hit back quickly and a couple of errors from the Crofters saw Tamworth pull ahead. Marcus Tolley got Burton back on track with 2 quick tries. Some improved defence saw Burton force turnovers and the ball came their way for Dominic Sturman to produce one of his trademark straight line runs to score, another score from Tamworth gave them a 3 try cushion before Ben Mumford jinked his way round the defence to score.

Tamworth 5-20 Burton

After there first game Burton were instructed to tighten the defence up, and it worked a treat for them with the whole team working well with each other. A few good Burton attacks saw Owen Jones score Burtons first. With the emphasis on defence, Burton produced another seasons best performance and the tries all came from good passing moves that involved the whole team. Burtons second try came from a move that saw Niall Bradley and Ben Blackham link up to set Charlie Spendlove up for his first try, then a move that saw Marcus Tolley take the ball on and slice the defence open before passing to Charlie Spendlove for his second. A solid Tamworth defence then kept Burton in there own half, until the ball found its way to Ben Mumford who cut the defence in two only to get tagged on the line, but he found Charlie Spendlove on his shoulder to take the pass and score. Tamworth finished the scoring with a consolation try.

Burtons scorers-Cameron Callow(4), Charlie Evans(4), Mathew Lumby(2), Edgar Brown, Finn Spendlove(2), Owen Jones, Charlie Spendlove(4), Marcus Tolley(2), Dominic Sturman and Ben Mumford.
