Despite depleted teams, both sides gave strong performances, enjoying the opportunity to play again after the cancellations last week.
The Under 10’s have now introduced a reward system for those children best representing the RFU Core Values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, and Sportsmanship. Our aim is for the children to embrace these values, and think beyond just winning. This in turn will help their own performance, and that of their team.
The rewards are in the form of arm bands for each value, and are presented at the end of each game. A child who achieves a band, will wear it during the following weeks game. This week, the reward for Teamwork went to Harrison Smith, Respect went to Jack Davies, Enjoyment went to Joe Leason, Discipline went to Joe Maloney, and Sportsmanship went to Dru Shenton. All the kids will have the opportunity to wear these armbands, embracing the spirit of ‘Kids First’ at Burton Rugby Club.
