Burton U10's Vs Loughborough

Burton under 10’s blew off the summer cobwebs in their first competitive game of the new season against Loughborough at the Oxhay. Heavy rain overnight and persistent showers throughout the morning didn’t deter our boys from the job in hand.
The two scheduled games saw a well organised Burton side holding a tight defensive line against any attack from the visitors and strong tackling soon saw Burton taking the upper hand in this encounter. Burton’s attacking game started slightly more slowly but once the ball started to get passed the gaps in the Loughborough defence were soon exploited and Burton found themselves running in several tries in both games and left the Loughborough support with little to shout about.
A shorter third game was quickly arranged and Burton used this opportunity to allow a number of the boys to play in different positions but with many of them now cold, wet and exhausted from there earlier exertions Loughborough were gifted a consolation victory, which I’m sure gave them something to talk about on the way home.
