Burton Under 10's win Plate at Staffs. County Festival

Burton's Cobras had won against Wolverhampton (15-10), Barbarians (20-10), Lichfield (35-0) and drawn against Leek (5-5) but, in the final match, needed to beat a good and unbeaten Stafford team. Stafford put pressure on the Cobras from the beginning and although they came close to scoring a number of times, dogged defending from Burton prevented them from getting the ball down. Burton, on the other hand, made the most of their breaks scoring three tries. Stafford managed a late try but victory went to Burton, final score ( 15-5).

Every member of the squad should be proud of their performance on Sunday - a real team effort.

Burton's Barbarians found themselves in a tough group in the Cup Competition and lost to Wolverhampton, Lichfield and Stafford. They did, however, engineer a very good win against Barton (15-10), playing some good, fluid rugby; this was particularly pleasing as Barton has beaten us well earlier in the season. Well done Barbarians.
