It being half-term, there were a number of players missing, but Burton was still able to lend Tamworth a few, so as to enable the Cobras and Barbarians to play concurrently.
Cobras and Barbarians played three games each against good Tamworth teams who dominated all but one of the games; the Barbarians held them to a 20 -20 draw in the first game.
There was a great deal of promising play from Burton. As always there were moments of individual brilliance but there was also also some great team work in evidence, tenacious tackling and much more competitive rucking. There was plenty of evidence of improvement in the Burton squad - those weeks of training have not been in vain.
Barbarians 35 Tamworth 80
Scorers: Owen Raw (2), James Wynne-Raji (2), Bailey Cullen, Phillipe Moreau ans Sam Stride.
Cobras 0 Tamworth 120
This was a much more positive fixture than the score line suggests against a very good Tamworth squad.
