This is one of a series of 5 festivals culminating in a knockout stage of the competition at Welford Road, home of Leicester Tigers.

Burton was one of ten clubs competing at Tamworth, the teams broken down into two leagues. Burton were in a league with Sutton Coldfield, Bromsgrove, Wolverhampton and Stratford Upon Avon.

Burton 5 - Bromsgrove 15
A close game. A promising start to the first half with good team play. James Wynne-Raji scored first for Burton. Bromsgrove came back strongly to equalise. In the second half Burton were put under pressure, conceding two more tries, in spite of some determined tackling.

Burton 0 - Wolverhampton 20
An evenly matched first half with only one score from Wolverhampton. Owen Raw had a great run for the try line, only to be called back for an earlier knock on. Wolverhampton dominated the second half, scoring a further three tries and their efficiency in the rucks meant Burton was always on the back foot, but they never gave up.

Burton 15 - Sutton Coldfield 10
Burton came close to scoring in the first half through James Wynne-Raji, who was frustrated just short of the try line. An even contest, but the score at the end of the first half was 2 tries to 0 in Sutton Coldfield's favour. Early in the second half, Sam Wagstaffe scored a memorable try, taking the ball from within metres of his own try line to touch down for Burton's first score of the match. Within minutes, after a period of more positive play from Burton, Sam touched down for his second try. The third and winning try came from Shayne Williams.

Burton 5 - Stratford Upon Avon 35
Stratford scored immediately and a second try followed within minutes. A third try was almost thwarted by the determined chase of Jack Ward, but Stratford touched down. There were more tries from Stratford but then a sensational run from Shayne Williams gave Burton a deserved try. Burton continued their spirited defence to the last second.

The Burton team showed great character today, determined in attack and defence, showing individual skill and teamwork and playing in the true spirit of rugby win or lose.

Try scorers: Sam Wagstaffe (2), Shayne Williams (2), James Wynne-Raji (1).
