This was the first opportunity for Burton Under 10's to put into practise all they had worked hard to perfect in September's training sessions, but both the Cobras and the Barbarians were frustrated largely by Walsall's dominance in the newly introduced rucks. Burton, while they showed an understanding of the new rucks and mauls introduced this year, failed to compete as effectively as their opponents in this area, giving Walsall the upper hand.
Plenty to applaud though from the Burton teams - some great tackling, moments of brilliance and individual tries. Well done to the new members of the squad who integrated well in what was their first ever game.
