Burton U11's enjoyed their first home fixture of the season, hosting Lichfield in 3 evenly matched games.
With over 25 players turning up from both sides, Buron managed to field three teams including experienced and new players to the game.
Every player gave 100% during the games and never took a backward step. They tackled hard, ball carried with determination, and showed some excellent teamwork with their passing, ensuring that all newer players were actively involved.
Special mentions need to go to Jacob Wellesley who played with Burton up until U8's. He returned today in his first full-contact game and wowed everyone with his determination and fearless tackling. Max Grabski who also played in his first game for Burton, made some strong runs, carrying the ball with real grit and confidence. Oscar Horton captained one of the Burton teams. Not only did he present excellent leadership qualities on the pitch but showed his skills in all aspects of the game - an absolute joy to watch.
Our Players of the week go to Oliver James and Ellis Reeves. Ellis played his second game for Burton today. He has improved in such a short space of time and really deserved the award today for his ball carries and tackles.
Oliver joined Burton as an U6 and it is stunning to see how far this young man has come on since then. He tackled with aggression, read the game beautifully, and made sure that everyone in his team were involved and motivated. He just never gave up for a second which was why he thoroughly deserved the award today.
