Well done to all the boys who played in this week's fixture vs 2 strong sides in Ashby and Longton.
Having so many lads in the squad we are having to invite 2 teams on a Sunday in order to give all the players sufficient game time.
We always look forward to playing both Ashby and Longton with their physicality and competitiveness.
Both teams started slowly again this week and were disappointed with themselves after the first 20 minutes. They agreed that they weren't getting to the rucks quickly enough and needed to focus on their tackling - something which we have been working hard on in training but wasn't quite being exercised in the game.
The second 20 minutes was much better from both sides where they found their own competitiveness and started working together as a team to find their successes.
Stand-out performances from Max Grabski and Matt Philliskirk again who both tackled well and ran hard lines, both making a difference to their teams. Oliver West and Isaac Wright from team 2, were also working hard in defence and tackling some of the biggest opposition on the pitch.
Players of the week were awarded to Albey Eley and Billy Wakelin, both breaking through the line of defence to score some long-distance tries and working hard throughout the games to add to their team's successes. Well done to both.
Despite there being some really good work on the pitch from all players, the coaches feel that there is so much more to come from Burton U12's this season and are going to be working hard with the team over the next few weeks to continue to develop and improve.
