A great day was had by all at Oakham RFC, and despite the long journey and a few detours (Ros) we set up camp adjacent to Pitch A.
The Burton boys put on a fine display of rugby and were unbeaten in the pool stages putting them through into the semi-final against Stamford RFC to whom lost 10-0 despite a great effort by all.
Although all games within the pools were a win, we really didn’t get into the groove and deliver a solid a performance as we are able. All things said we had a great day out and were the highest placed Staffordshire side competing in this ‘clash of the titans’ tournament against some of the Midlands strongest teams.
Unfortunately on a sad note Daniel Heale broke his arm in two places and will spend the rest of the season in a plaster cast. We all wish him a speedy and full recovery.
