The Barbarians welcomed Walsall at Burton and played on the Croft for the second time this season. The strong Barbarian pack started on a positive note with a quick try scored by Henry Trinh and converted by Ollie Gibbs in the first 5 minutes. This was followed by a good run and subsequent try from Hector Abel again converted by Ollie Gibbs. Due to the Barbarians good tackling Walsall were only able to score one try in the first half and then Dylan Farnell from the Barbarians went on to score a further try which was converted by Ollie Gibbs. One of the Walsall players was awarded a red card following an incident in the first half.
The second half saw Walsall come back into the game and score four tries, three of which were converted. Due to good communication and continued team work the Barbarians managed to pass the ball along the line to Henry Trinh who scored his second try of the game and was converted by Ollie Gibbs. The final minutes of the second half saw Oliver Owen score the final try for the Barbarians.
The game saw the Barbarians start with some very strong tackling and great communication amongst the team. There is some work to do on the mauling and rucking, but the team worked hard for their win today !
Man Of the Match was Marcus Tolley.
