The first half saw Market Bosworth running in 4 consecutive tries that were all converted. They were able to pinpoint a few weak areas where Burton were over-committing players to both rucks and mauls. This enabled Market Bosworth to ship out wide or break through the centre. Market Bosworth 28 Burton 0.
Is it over??? I was asked by one of the parents... Oh no... not at all! Niall Collett came out of nowhere, collected the ball from the maul and made a 10 yard dash before going down but with fantastic game sense he shipped the ball to Millar Pride who scored Burtons 1st try. The wind made it impossible to convert. Market Bosworth 28 Burton 5
Market Bosworth kick off... Harry Roden calls and takes possession. He's making good progress up midfield but is taken to ground. Market Bosworth are trying to ruck over but it’s no good... the Burton pack holds strong and Niall Collett gathers the ball and ships it to Zak Fellows who’s flying up the wing like a scalded Pegasus. Market Bosworth are hot on his heels and looks as if they’re going to bundle him in to touch but with a side step he avoids the tackle and then ships the ball to Georgie boy Else who goes over the line for Burtons 2nd try. Harry Roden, with a beautiful kick, makes the conversion which concludes the first half. Market Bosworth 28 Burton 12
The second half sees more of the same with Market Bosworth running in 2 more consecutive tries but only converting 1. Market Bosworth 40 Burton 12
The Burton Bulldogs are not disheartened... they have their heads held high and are taking the game to Market Bosworth’s 22 yard line. Some fantastic centre work is carried out by Ben Acton, who breaks through quite a few times but is unable to get over the try line. Market Bosworth have a fantastic line of defence and are holding the Bulldogs back. A loose ball gets kicked up field and the Burton boys are again on their back foot. Connor Hutchinson gathers and runs the ball back at Market Bosworth and with a quick kick, he chips the ball over the players head. Jak Mumford gets possession and scores the last try of the match. Harry Roden easily converts the try. The final score Market Bosworth 40 Burton 19
Well done lads. The score does not reflect the passion and guts I saw you all play with today. This season has been the best I have ever seen you guys play, you have all made us so proud. Well done the Burton Bulldogs.
