Burton U14`s arrived at Coalville Rfc with many players rested but our minds focused on the job in hand, which was to continue our season long run of excellent performances. Each player was aware of the responsibility putting on a Burton shirt brings and was determined to produce an excellent performance in this development fixture.
Burton took control at the start of the game with some strong running and excellent phase play, and it was not long until the first Burton try was scored, The Crofters continued to pressure the Coalville players and with some excellent tackling did not let, what was at times a strong Coalville side, back in the game.
Decision making and technique at the breakdown area was a highlight of the game for Burton. Keeping control of the ball under some strong Coalville pressure, showed the determination and commitment that as coaches we were looking for.
Burton`s pressure was proving to much for Coalville as the Crofters scored at regular intervals throughout the game.
The match was played in a great spirit with our hosts Coalville at times running us close, but Burton were able to stay strong and come away winners.
