Despite appalling weather and pitch conditions the U14’s Crofters put on a quality performance against the Newcastle U14’s in our final County pool fixture before Xmas.
From a strong Newcastle start and early try, the Crofters soon took control and good solid work by everyone produced quality and inspiring play that resulted in a bagful of try’s.
A massive thank you to Richard ‘Brud’ Shaw for stepping up to referee the game as the hosts could not provide one. He did a fantastic job at such short notice and avoided us having to cancel the game.
This now puts us at the top of the ‘big boys’ pool 1 with 24 points, with Wolves RFC beating Stoke today 17-12, they are second with21 points, followed by Stafford with 18 points & Stoke with 18 points.
