Burton welcomed Wolverhampton to the Ox-hay to play a hastily arranged fixture. Burton following 2 hefty defeats last season to Wolves were expecting a very hard game, however the Burton lads have come on this season and are growing in confidence and skill. Burton got straight into it with some good hit ups and then spread the ball wide for Mitch to go over in the corner, Wolves hit back straight away with a try, they had x 2 big runners and were hard to bring down and these were their "go to" when attacking, Burton then scored a carbon copy of the first try Mitch's 2nd and Wolverhampton finished the half with another score, a good even game and the scores reflect HT Burton 10 Wolves 12. In the 2nd half Burton started like a train building pressure in the Wolverhampton half and then converting it to points, they scored 3 try's very quickly through Mitch (3rd try) Jack M and Marcus, Wolverhampton finish the game with x 2 long range efforts from their big runners. Full time scores 29 v 24 to Burton. Great "team play" by the whole squad with no one being selfish with the ball and it going wide at the right times. Great effort by all the lads.
