B's travelled away to Bloxwich with a bare 15 and this wans only after last minute pleading with lads to help us out . Have to say the 15 on show was a good 15 considering the difficulty we had had all week getting 3 teams out ...welcome on board George Hodgson-Walker who made his debut after transferring from Uttoxeter along with Tom Worrell and Cam Maughan also making first stats for the B's ...so in a nutshell if we could keep 15 on the pitch then we had a good chance , that lasted 15 minutes when the unfortunate Steve Nugent suffered an arm injury whilst making a tackle and had to come off reducing us down to 14 for the remainder of the match , Steve has again fractured his wrist ...speedy recovery mate and look forward to having you out there again soon .
Bloxwich made the numbers difference tell, this wasn't helped by us also receiving a yellow card so down to 13 for an extra 10 minutes and soon raced into a 24-0 lead with 4 try's and only 2 converted , this remained the score until half time .
We were all probably fearing the worst at this point but with some positive chat at half time from the experienced lads in the side we came out a different proposition in the second half which we duly won 21-7 with 3 try's all converted , Tom Worrell getting 1 and Daz 2 of which he converted all 3 and did receive the MOM award .
So in summary we went so didn't get 5 points deducted as would have happened if we cried off , yes we didn't get the win or any bonus points but the spirit and the fight shown by all who travelled was immense...a big thanks to all from Danny and myself
Final Score Bloxwich 31-21 Burton B's
