Burton travelled over to Long Eaton on a wet and winding Friday night, a few late arrivals due to an accident near the A50 made warming up and run throughs less than ideal. However the girls started well and dominated possession and field position, unfortunately the first score went to LE, now this could have taken the wind out of the team as it was against the run of play, however the women are made of sterner stuff these days and IT galvanised the team. Burton replied with a score almost immediately after some good hands that stretched the LE defence and then they added another, half time score 7 v 12. Burton then drew away with some good continuity and scored a further 4 try's in the 2nd half with no reply, this was due to some huge hits in defence and some decent organisation. Fair play to LE they never stopped trying, but the Burton women now training twice a week are improving their skill sets every week proved too hard to breakdown. On the down side we dropped about 5 scoring passes, likely as the team were under pressure, cold and tired, so no guessing what we will be practising this week.........passing drills when the team are under pressure cold and tired!
