It has been an outstanding season for the U15 boys, with every player demonstrating significant development and improvement in both their individual and team performance.
Over the course of the season, the team played 25 matches across Staffordshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Shropshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire & Derbyshire (NLD). Facing consistently strong opposition, the squad performed exceptionally well, securing an impressive 21 victories. The team dominated the majority of their fixtures, with opponents often unable to match their superior set-piece execution and relentless commitment to playing on the front foot.
Throughout the season, the boys scored a remarkable 957 points while conceding 437. Albey E finished as top try scorer for the second consecutive year with 31 tries, closely followed by Ethan P with 28 and Ben H with 21. Matt P led the kicking duties, successfully converting 55 kicks.
In training, the squad focused heavily on structured gameplay, implementing clear patterns in both attack and defence. This approach proved highly effective and became a key strength of the team throughout the season. The team’s success has also been reflected in individual achievements, with seven players selected for the Leicester Tigers Junior Academy and representing their schools.
A standout highlight for the squad was their victory over Lichfield at their home ground to win the Staffordshire County Cup Final, a very proud moment for the players and coaches representing Burton.
