U16 Girls - catching up with Jamie Parker & Stu Hutton.

The 2025/26 season has been a huge step forward for the Burton Rugby Club Under 16 Girls section, packed with growth, determination, and unforgettable moments along the way.

This season saw the girls reach the last 16 of the National Cup, a fantastic achievement that reflects the hard work and commitment shown throughout the year. The squad also reached the Staffordshire Cup Final, competing with determination and pride every step of the way.

September marked another milestone for the club as the team embarked on Burton Rugby Club’s first-ever Girls Tour. It was a brilliant experience for the players, both on and off the pitch, and helped strengthen the bond within the squad.

The section has continued to grow, successfully recruiting several new players this season, including two girls completely new to rugby who embraced the sport with enthusiasm and courage.

Player development has been outstanding across the squad, with 12 players representing Burton Rugby Club within the Staffordshire PDG and their respective county pathways. This is a tremendous reflection of the talent, effort, and attitude the girls have shown all season.

A special thank you goes to our sponsors for their valued support this year:
ajs-consulting.co.uk for sponsoring our playing shirts, niras.com and tla.uk.com for sponsoring the remainder of the team kit.

The girls trained hard every week and worked even harder on match days. Their teamwork and sportsmanship were evident throughout the season, including stepping up to play for other teams when squads were short, ensuring fixtures could still go ahead. That attitude captures exactly what girls’ rugby is all about.

Finally, we wish the very best of luck to the players moving up to the Under-18s next season. We know they will continue to thrive and represent the club brilliantly.

The coaches, Stu, Louisa, Paul and Jamie are incredibly proud of the commitment, resilience, and progress shown by every player this season.

Here’s to an even bigger 2026/27 season for the Burton girls' section.
