Jono, from Branston, first played rugby at JTHS before joining Burton in 2004 for the U14 season. A big, strong lad with a character to match, he was an excellent prop and powerful ball carrier. Jono toured each season and entertained his fellow tourists with his singing. He is remembered with great affection by the players and supporters from his age group.

Sadly, injury prevented Jono from progressing from the U17 level into the Colts. However, he went on to become a regular on the local music scene, performing with his guitar and powerful vocals. His performances included appearances at Peel Croft and, more recently, Party on the Pitch.

Our deepest sympathies and condolences go to Jono’s fiancée, Jodie, his three-year-old daughter, Riley, his parents, brothers and all of his wider family and friends at this terribly difficult time.
