You will be aware from previous communications that our President for the last 10 years, Ian Cartwright was intending to step down from being the President by this Christmas.
Those of you who were fortunate enough to attend the fantastic Christmas lunch/party last Saturday will be aware that Ian has now officially stepped down and passed the baton on to a new President, Craig Dutton.
We are all massively indebted and grateful to Ian for his unstinting service during his presidency, not to mention all the other aspects that he has been involved in prior to becoming President, from coaching, Chair of Mini/Juniors, Hon Secretary and always as a volunteer at club events.
Ian will continue to be actively involved with the club, remaining on the General Committee as a Past President and continuing to support the Executive with his insight and history of our great club.
Moving on to our new President, Craig Dutton. Most of you will know Craig as a past senior player, making over two hundred appearances for our 1st Team. Craig has held many positions at the club including Fixtures Secretary, Assistant DoR, coaching age groups as well as being a major contributor to the General Committee. In recent years Craig has been central in supporting the club’s big events.
It is great news for the club that Craig is willing to take on this new role as President and we look forward to him joining the Executive where he will continue to have a positive impact for BRFC. The first job will be when Craig and Ian lead the President’s team against the DoR team on Boxing Day, a great family occasion and we hope to see you down at Battlestead Croft.
