From 1st August 2026, Burton RFC will be introducing a brand-new Point of Sale (POS) system supplied by First Sports, bringing together a range of improvements to the way members access their benefits and pay at the bar. Fully integrated with GMS, the new system will see physical membership cards replaced by convenient digital cards that can be accessed through your GMS dashboard or added to your Apple or Google Wallet.

The new system will make accessing membership benefits quicker, simpler and more convenient, while providing the club with a modern platform that will support our continued growth and development.

Members will continue to receive a discount at the bar by presenting their digital membership card. Members will also have the option to load funds onto their card and use it to make cashless and cardless payments. The benefit to the club of cashless and cardless payments is that it will reduce the level of fees we pay for every card transaction.

Many members are already familiar with GMS, but we recognise that some may need help getting started. We have created a user guide which takes members through a five-step plan to get you up and running on the new system.

Our team of GMS Elves will also be available at member registration events to provide advice and support, with dates announced on the club website and social media. Physical membership cards will remain available for members without compatible devices.

Membership renewals are open / due 1st August 2026, and we encourage everyone to begin using their digital membership card from this date. We recognise that this is a significant change for our members, so there will be a transition period. Physical membership cards will continue to be accepted at the bar and at the gate for 1st XV home games, until 30th September 2026. From 1st October 2026, physical membership cards will no longer be accepted, and members will need to present their digital membership card.
