The Staffordshire Girls u15s county programme has wrapped up with Burton players Tia Bannister - Fotheringham, Caitlin Smith, Lillie Mumford, Sky Carter, and Hattie Clay representing themselves, the club and the county with pride.

The programme was run throughout May with a number of training sessions, a couple of 10s festivals where Staffs took on North Mids, Warwickshire and Leicestershire, a culminated in 15 a side games against North Mids and Warwickshire.

All the games across all the weeks were really competitive and the standard of rugby on display was exemplary.

All teams across the county with girls’ sections were represented in the county squad and it demonstrated that women and girls rugby in Staffs is in robust shape and we’re sure we’ll see in the future, girls who got their first taste of rugby at Staffordshire clubs playing at the highest level.

Well done to all the girls for their hard work and determination and look forward to seeing them at pre-season training with the rest of the Burton Girls.
