Burton Rugby Club who currently play in the National Midlands 3 league are seeking to add a forwards coach / player coach to their existing coaching team for season 2011-12, which provides coaching opportunities for their senior sides. The coaching team currently comprises of Steve Smith (Head Coach), Tom Barlow (Backs Coach) and Mick Davey (Forwards Coach).

The squad is packed full of talented young players, with many of this season’s successful colts side having already made the transition into the senior teams during the season. Next season will see Burton in the enviable position of being able to field two colt’s sides who will feed directly into the senior section.

The forwards coach or player-coach we are seeking to appoint will ideally be qualified to a minimum of RFU Level 2 standard or have sufficient technical knowledge / experience to bring out the best in our forwards, whilst developing their individual ability and skills.

The club is in a transitional period and are seeking to relocate to a brand new facility three miles from the existing ground, with the potential to become one of the best facilities in the Midlands. The mini / junior section continues to prosper and have over 400 junior playing members in the club.
