2014 East Staffordshire Sport Scholarship Awards

Time to nominate for the East Staffordshire Sports Awards. We had winners in the past, so lets make sure Burton RFC is on the list of winners again!

Fund for Performers and Coaches

Each year East Staffordshire Borough Council award elite sports performers and coaches with Sports Grants to assist them in achieving full National, International and Olympic Honours. If you or someone you know has reached regional standard or above in sport they can apply for Grant Aid, which can be used towards training, competition costs or equipment.

Scholarship Award Scheme – Nomination Forms

Do you know of any local voluntary sports men, women or young person that makes an outstanding contribution to sport?

Do you know of a local sports performer who has excelled in their chosen sport?

If the answer is yes to the above, please nominate them for an East Staffordshire Sports Award. Nominations are currently being sort for:

  • Junior Team of the Year
  • Senior Team of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • Junior Volunteer of the Year
  • Administrator of the Year
  • Disabled Performer of the Year
  • Junior Sports Person of the Year
  • Sports Personality of the Year
  • Sports Un-Sung Hero

The full criteria for applying for grant aid and making nominations is available on the Council’s website at:-

along with a downloadable application and nomination form. Hard copies of the forms can also be picked up from the Meadowside and Uttoxeter Leisure Centres, Shobnall Leisure Complex, Libraries and the Customer Service Centres from the beginning of next week.

Deadline for applications and nominations is Monday 20th January 2014.

Awards will be presented at an event at Burton Albion Football Club, Pirelli Stadium, on Thursday 27th March 2014.
