Burton under 17’s v Uttoxeter
1st May 2011
Burton entertained Uttoxeter on the tinder try Peel Croft pitch for their last match of a successful season. The sides commenced evenly balanced, the forward encounters producing clouds of dust. Uttoxeter missed an early penalty kick and it was Burton who opened the scoring and with three tries in the first half Burton were leading 19:0 at the break.
In the second half Burton came out determined to extend their lead. The Burton players began to put on a vintage display of attacking rugby as Uttoxeter started to flag. A series of tries and conversions took the full time score to 51:0.
This was a powerful performance from the large Burton squad, a fitting finale to the sides most successful season to date and the end of rugby at junior level for the players and coaches. We all look forward to a successful Colts season in 2011/2012.
