The cold and frosty morning that welcomed Burton to Wolverhampton resulted in a thirty minute delay. Normal service was resumed against game Wolves!

The game was played at Wolverhampton. Due to a cold frosty morning the kick off was delayed by half-an-hour to allow the pitch to thaw out properly! Wolverhampton got off to a strong start but met stern resistance from the Bucks defence. Slowly the Bucks strength began to show and they began to secure consistent possession and territory. The first score came after about 6 minutes when a good decision by Eddie Nichols to switch play to the blind side just inside the opposition's half. He made ground right up almost to the 5 metre line where he found the supporting Alex Nesbitt with a well-timed pass. Nesbitt made the most of the opportunity to score under the posts. Frank Simpson added the conversion. (Bucks 7-0 Wolverhampton).

From the kick-off the ball was secured and made its way to Ed Wainman on the right who showed his pace beating several of the Wolverhampton defence and making significant ground in the process. Wolverhampton, to their credit, remained in the contest and found the Bucks defence in midfield resolute. The Bucks forwards soon started to pile on the pressure. After about 10 minutes Bucks increased their lead further when from a penalty 5 metres out they moved the ball through the hands. Scorer of the first try, Nesbitt, turned provider on this occasion unselfishly releasing the ball to Matt Robinson to score in the left corner. A difficult conversion was unsuccessful. (Bucks 12-0 Wolverhampton).

The Bucks now began to take control - with captain Kieran Hall one of a number of forwards enjoying plenty of possession - and they were hungry to add to their lead. They did not have to wait very long for this to happen. Five minutes later again from a penalty, this time 10 metres out a well executed move found Robinson again on the left wing and he was able to finish well. Simpson added the conversion. (Bucks 19-0 Wolverhampton).

Shortly after this an injury to Nicholls forced him to leave the pitch. The coaching team rearranged moving Isa Cashmore from fullback bringing on Tom Hamlet to replace him. Once again Wolverhampton kept on battling and it was a further 10 minutes or so before Bucks added to their score. Following a line-out inside the Wolverhampton twenty two, a part of the game where Jacob Kitchen was outstanding all day, the ball was again moved through the backs hands. Simpson fed the supporting Ed Wainman, who scored in the right corner. Simpson added an excellent conversion (Bucks 26-0 Wolverhampton).

No further score was added despite Bucks dominating possession and territory.

The second-half began with Wolverhampton once again showing a fine level of commitment and were able to compete with the Bucks during the early stages. There were a number of changes made by the coaching team so that all players were given game-time and this lead to a period of settling from the Bucks. Around 10 minutes into the half, Bucks started to turn the screws again and following a successful ruck Louis Sanders ignored the support outside and went over to score the Bucks first try of the period near to the posts. Simpson added the conversion. (Bucks 33-0 Wolverhampton).

Sanders scored his second of the game about 10 minutes later when he took a quick penalty from about 7 metres out and scored under the posts. Simpson added the conversion once again (Bucks 40-0 Wolverhampton).

The Bucks defence once again withstood everything Wolverhampton threw at them and eventually added further to their lead. A great jump and catch by Jacob Kitchen at a line-out deep in Wolverhampton territory and the Bucks forwards produced an excellent drive to allow Ben Wileman to score in the left corner. Simpson was unable to add the conversion and the score moved on to (Bucks 45-0 Wolverhampton).

The final score of the game came from a "Manu Tuilaghi" style interception by Simpson on the Bucks 10 metre line. He sprinted clear and found Wileman in support with a well timed pass. Wileman finished well on the right hand side. Simpson added the conversion to take the lead passed the "50" mark (Bucks 52-0 Wolverhampton).

Again to their great credit Wolverhampton showed no sign of giving up against the superior Bucks team and the score remained the same until the final whistle sounded.

There were several contenders for man of the match with Louis Sanders getting the honours for a very strong all-round performance.
