It looks as though the boys may be turning the corner with a far more competitive performance this week.
A very close fought game with some great tackling , positional awareness both offensively and defensively meant that the lads pushed our Newcastle counterparts all the way - and with a little more luck and dexterity it could have been a lot closer.
Again the pack looked solid in the scrum with Oli/Monty/Charlie Q/Dougie/Herbie and Tom showing some real unity up front. There were glimpses in the backs of some real potential especially with the pace of Heath and Sonny. With our resident Ripper, Conor putting in a another sterling performance.
It was a tight affair in the first half with Newcastle finally opening the score a little against play. Burton were quick to respond with some great work from Tom Hodder at pace releasing Jude to go over for Burtons reply.
Thanks to Dave Raw for his assist on Newcastles second try. What can i say.....Burton went in half time only one score down -
Again each and everyone put in a great deal of effort throughout the game and its difficult to single out any specific performances - but credit needs to go to the new lads that have just started with us - both for their encouragement and drive when they finally got into the game - Sonny/Joel/Jake/Heath
The lads are starting to progress and be a little more forward thinking - to a man they should be all proud of themselves by the way that they conducted themselves as well as the way that they approached the game.
Oli B - Monty - Charlie Q - James H - Herbie - Dougie - Tom - Joel - Jake - Heath - Sonny - Josh - Job - Charlie RK - Aidan - Jude- Conor - Rhys - Isaac - and our expert water carrier Riley. Well done to you all - Keep up the good work and see you all next week.
