Market Bosworth RFC 19 v Burton RFC 10
Try scorers:
Ed Turner
Levi ‘the flyhacker’ Davis
The same apathy from the previous match continued into the game against our hosts, again a quality act but nothing that we could not of beaten if we had delivered the quality game that we have seen for so much of this season. Again high tackles, no tackles, internal bickering were and led to a frustrating game where we were unable to do even the simple things well.
Charlie pulled off a cross field kick of the season which Ed T sprinted to touch down leaving Bosworth boys scratching their sunburn, and a Levis aggressive pressure on a fumbling full back under a high ball, saw a fly hack that got him over the line and under the posts, only for Joe G to hit the cross bar! It just wasn’t our day!
Despite all this, some good phases of play were had and a hint of the team we can be was still there to be seen by all. We can blame it on the weather, the Easter hols, the lack of players available, the lateness of the season, the swallows returning from Africa….. or whatever you want, it was a lack luster performance and the lads knew it.
As always my first question at the post match team talk was ‘have you enjoyed yourself today boys?’…. the resounding answer was YES!!. and despite the results I believe they had.
So we will put it all behind us, enjoy a week’s break for the Easter holidays and return for the two last games of the season. Details to follow.
Hoppy Easter!
