The U13's continue their positive County Cup Campaign with a 15-7 home win.

Burton RFC 15 v Burntwood RFC 7

Burntwood RFC U13’s arrived at the Oxhay with some good league wins under their belts this season, and although only a team that have been formed for only their second season, today would be another big test for the Burton team.

The game kicked off with Burton in usual determined mode, putting pressure on the visitors, phase after phase was secured by the home side resulting in the first score from some excellent vision from Charlie Bunting who placed a cross kick into the corner for Olly Mears who collected the ball and went over to score the opening try. (5-0)
Burntwood then came back at the Crofters and after continued pressure scored under the posts to take the lead with a neatly kicked conversion. (5-7)
This only focused the Burton boys into a stronger effort and after a constant probing at the Burntwood line the ball was won at the ruck and passed out to Charlie Bunting who went over to score, putting Burton in front 10-7 at the break.
The second half started in a similar vein with Burton in control but with the strong running of the Burntwood pack continually testing the Burton defences.
The half stayed even until midway though when the ball was worked to Levi Davis on the left wing who broke two tackles with his trademark strong hand-off then ran in Burton`s third try to cheers from the home crowd.
This made the score 15-7 to Crofters which was how the game finished, both teams playing well but Burton just coming out on top and securing another 3 points for our move up the league.
