Burton RFC U13's 5 v Oadby Wyggs 24

On a beautiful autumn morning we greeted our visitors Oadby Wyggs RFC, a team we had not met since our tag days!

A disappointing start saw us on the back foot immediately and they Leicester team soon taught us a lesson with a well worked early try and conversion.
Heads went down and we all seemed surprised that we were losing and again the visitors taught us a lesson on lovely flowing back play, fast hands and clean ball and another try was scored.

The Crofters rallied and soon took back the upper hand with great play from the forwards who slowed the game down and took control. Good work from all players ended with a try in the corner from Winger Levi Davis.

Despite good play the Oadby boys kept the pressure on and their lovely flowing passes and offloads into contact sucked our players in creating gaps for them to pour through in strength scoring two more tries with a final score of 24 -5 to the visitors.

The Burton boys had something missing this morning and our normal fast paced game was taken a notch higher by a visiting team that had better fitness and fluid movement than ourselves. Lack of discipline from certain Burton players was unacceptable and this caused an a breakdown of team spirit. A lesson learned this morning and plenty to do for Thursday evening training prior to our County fixture at Walsall RFC next Sunday.

Put it all behind you, take a big breath, and turn up with a better attitude on Thursday night for training.
