U13s v Broadstreet

Sunday morning saw Burton U13s turn up on the Oxhay with a solid squad of 21 lads eager to put last week behind them. The first match had Burton waking up which sometimes sees them slow to start; Broadstreet took full advantage of this to run in 4 tries. The Burton scrum continued to develop and improved from being driven backwards at the start to holding its own and putting in some good wins. Overall an improvement on last week with good tackles from Dillon, Beau, Joel, Sam and Owen amongst others and some good runs by Sam and Joel one of which lead to his try in the corner

In the second game despite a good blitz defence Burton weren't able to keep Broadstreet out but some good pressure from the likes of Joe and Olly kept them down to 2 tries. Despite Sean breaking through their line he didn't have enough support to get across the try line. An improved

In game three we had a more positive match with Sam ripping the ball from the opposition and running half of the pitch for a try; this was followed by a try from Beau who was supporting Sean when he was hauled down just short of the line. Good running and hands from Cam and Hadders couldn't get across the line again. Despite defensive pressure from Bailey and William Broadstreet did manage to cross the line twice to draw the match.

A disappointing score line for the effort that was put in by the boys. Overall a far more impressive week than last week with everyone bonding more as a complete team
