Burntwood vs Burton

Burton had a strong but slightly depleted side due to sickness and Christmas availability. The 17 players who played the game worked seamlessly as a squad and executed the task in a structured fashion. Burntwood tackled very well from start to finish, but at the breakdown the Burton Forwards dominated and obtained at least 80 % of the possession, depriving Burntwood of any clean ball. The Burton Backs used the ball well, with it flowing neatly down the line. When Burntwood got possession they attacked well, but were never rewarded with a try. Burntwood's commitment could not be faulted. They held their heads high and battled to the end of the game.

Dan Horsey-Elson had an excellent game at Scrum Half and new boy Luke a very good half at stand off. Max Atherton also had a solid second half game at stand off and Liam Howson a good second half at Full Back.

Overall a very strong team performance, never deviating from the game plan.
