Melbourne vs Burton

Some excellent rugby was on display from both of these evenly matched squads.

Burton started strongly with flowing passing & aggressive rucking leading to the first score (Ed). Melbourne replied from a chase down field and made the conversion to go ahead. Burton's forwards sustained pressure but Melbourne again broke out to score. Melbourne pressured Burton's try line from the restart, rucking strongly and eventually scored again. Burton then went back on the attack with driving scrums and yardage gains from many of the team including Kern and Sam . Half time score Melbourne 14 - 10 Burton, with conversions being the difference.

The second half saw Max score for Burton, then Alex M get another with the Burton pack demonstrating good team work in the scrum. Melbourne yet again went straight back up field after the restart to score and after further possession by both sides, managed to cross the line again. Simon took the ball over between the posts to bring the visitors within a point for a nail biting finish, before Melbourne got the final points of the day.
